If, like me, your weird little piggies make you very prone to bad blisters, look up . The toe box is very wide and gives your some space to spread out. I got some cheap ones from that were listed as beginner-friendly and I was a little worried that I wouldn't have enough time to break them in before my to Europe. That was silly goose of me.
To give you context, I never, ever without medical tape, silicone inserts for my toes and my heels, and hydrocolloid patches for when I inevitably get . They are strategically placed in each bag that I travel with so I'm never stuck without them. My toenails need to be trimmed as short as possible or I run the risk of losing some of them. Even my amazing Zamberlan (iykyk) have given me blisters a couple of times, the most recent one being on a very long a few days ago.
Well, my barefoot shoes breezed through 20k+ steps a day for the last couple of weeks, and even one 40k step hike on a shockingly rough .
The brand I got is called Whitin and I'd say perhaps consider sizing down a bit if your feet are on the thinner side. I do need to tighten up the shoes if I want them to feel secure. The brown rubber soles have a great grip but they are so damn squeaky, you'll regret wearing them in an empty medieval church. A more general warning when starting out with barefoot shoes: you'll be sore for a few days as you get used to not squeezing your toes so much.
